Primary Role
Working under the direction of the Manager, Operations, the Supervisor, Maintenance Services is responsible for coordinating maintenance activities in a timely manner in accordance with all environmental, health & safety practices, and within the budget. Responsible for direct supervision of the maintenance team. Key responsibilities include, spares parts and consumables management, prioritizing, coordination and direction of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance and repair activities, identifying and managing subcontractors to ensure contract compliance. Ensures compliance with equipment O&M manuals and manufacturer recommendations, update of record drawings after any modification is implemented and performance of regular inspection and calibration activities.

Key Accountabilities
- Coordinate all maintenance activities so they are performed in a timely manner and in accordance with the department’s budget including all internal and external maintenance-related activities such as materials, equipment, services, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, labor and health and safety. Accountable for ongoing budget management and compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Coordinate maintenance activities including materials, equipment, services, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, labor and health and safety. Manage budget and comply with company policies and procedures
- Direct supervision of the maintenance team (mechanical, electrical and instrumentation). Interacts with team members, supervisors, vendors, subcontractors and other operations functions regarding repair and maintenance activities and contract compliance topics. Prioritization, coordination and direction of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance and repair activities and performance of regular inspection and calibration activities
- Coordinate repair, preventive and corrective maintenance activities, contract compliance, regular inspection and calibration activities with staff, vendors, subcontractors and client
- Ensure compliance with equipment O&M manuals and manufacturer recommendations, promptly update record drawings after any modification is implemented
- Spares parts and consumables management; Accountable for ensuring work orders are entered, assigned, and closed promptly and for ensuring adequate levels of spares and consumables are maintained at all times
- In conjunction with the Manager, Operations and other operational stakeholders, develops objectives and reports to meet internal and external requirements as well as improve operational efficiency
- Coordinate training activities as they may be required for all maintenance employees including required training. Accountable for ensuring all employees and subcontractors have valid authorization and access
Knowledge/Skills
- Understanding of maintenance disciplines such as mechanical and electrical systems, instrumentation and controls, and preventive, predictive & corrective maintenance methods
- Familiarity with work management and CMMS systems
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
- Effective written and verbal communication skills (e.g., fluency in report writing and presentations)
- Effective people management skills (e.g., planning, organizing, recruiting, controlling, and leading individual staff and teams).
- Effective interpersonal skills (e.g., persuasion, negotiation, listening, cooperation, tact, diplomacy, problem solving, internal consulting)
- Financial skills, including budget management, business modeling, and project cost benefit analysis forecasting and tracking.
- Proficient using Microsoft applications and various software packages.
Experience/Education
- High School graduate or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree in Engineering or related discipline preferred
- 5 years+ experience in commercial, industrial or water treatment industry
- Experience with various types and sizes of motors and pumps
Travel Requirements
- Local business travel
Certifications & Licenses
- Valid driver license with ability to successfully pass driving history check
