Position Information

This position pays $25.75 per hour.

This position may be eligible for annual incentive pay and contracted increases as determined by the collective bargaining agreement, and you will have the opportunity for continued salary growth.

Primary Role

Monitoring remote chemical feed sites by sampling and providing maintenance when required. Supports the operation of a Class A Surface Water Treatment Plant including chemical feed systems and performing required process control testing and analysis.

Key Accountabilities

  • Operates pumps, multimedia filters, chemical feed systems, and performs required process control testing and analysis.
  • Fills day tanks.
  • Calibrates chemical feed pumps, including checking chemical feeds at outlying stations that may be required.
  • Receives and tests chemical deliveries.
  • Performs routine maintenance and housekeeping, depending on actual working assignment.
  • Overtime required.
  • Performs daily sampling and calibration of monitors at remote feed sites.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Computer – Microsoft Office

Experience/Education

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 0-2 years of experience in the water industry.

Certifications/Licenses

  • Class A Illinois EPA Drinking Water Operator Certification or ability to obtain license within company guidelines.
  • Valid driver’s license required with the ability to pass a motor vehicle background check.

Other

  • Work schedule: Rotating Shift
  • 7a-3:30p with required overtime.
  • Processing daily necessary samples for this location
