If you have experience with creating work orders, maintaining databases and responding to inquiries accurately and professionally, then this role is for YOU! Primary Role

The Operations Representative I may be assigned to perform any task, activity, or responsibility that lies within the capability of the employee based on experience, knowledge, qualifications, and training.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • The Operations Representative I must possess a working knowledge and adhere to all OSHA safety standards and all Company safety protocols and policies put forth. 
  • The Operations Representative I must be detail-oriented and capable of preparing accurate records and documents.
  • The Operations Representative I must possess a general understanding of water utility field operations and a working knowledge of Company policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local regulations applicable to area of responsibility.
  • The Operations Representative I must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be capable of operating a computer keyboard with speed and accuracy.
  • The individual must be able to perform the essential functions and meet the physical requirements of Operations Representative I.
  • The individual must be capable of operating Company equipment and vehicles and must possess and maintain a valid New Jersey Drivers’ License with the ability to pass a motor vehicle report.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Operations Representative I responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Prepare accurate documents and reports such as, but not limited to, investment, maintenance, retirement, merchandising and jobbing work orders, work order completion notices and sketches, extension deposit agreements and refunds, street opening permits, purchase orders, activity reports, field sheets for main, hydrant, and service installations, test sheets for fire flow tests, and comparisons of contractors’ bids.
  • Maintain database related to the entry of statistical data regarding the operation of the transmission and distribution system in addition to departmental records.
  • Respond to inquiries accurately and professionally and, when necessary, involve the appropriate individuals to resolve customer and company-related issues and to achieve the highest level of customer service in all areas of assigned responsibility.
  • Record pertinent data and maintain accurate and complete records.
  • Prepare correspondence to customers, contractors and vendors. 
  • Complete Costs Analysis.
  • Record and monitor investment and maintenance budget expenses.
  • Process mark-out requests in accord with Underground Facility Mark-Out Program.
  • Update distribution system maps and systems.

Eduaction

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
