The is a Union Position with American Water NJ with a starting salary of: $27.51 Per Hour.
The base salary range represents a good faith salary range for this position. This position is eligible for annual incentive pay and has the opportunity for continued salary growth. If you are hired at American Water your base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as market, geography, skills, education and/or experience. Primary Role
The Operations Representative l may be assigned to perform any task, activity or responsibility that lies within the capability of the employee based on experience, knowledge, qualifications, and training.
Key Accountabilities
Operations Represntative l responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Complete Cost Analysis.
- Record and monitor investment and maintenance budget expenses.
- Process mark-out requests in accord with Underground Facility Mark-Out Program.
- Maintain database related to the entry of statistical data regarding the operation of the transmission and distribution system in addition to departmental records.
- Prepare and schedule service line installations and replacements.
- Prepare correspondence and documents.
- Operate all meter reading software and related equipment as needed.
- Generate and review reports related to meter reading data collected, create service orders as needed and track the service orders to completion.
- Respond to inquiries and professionally and, when necessary, involve the appropriate individuals to resolve customer and Company-related issues and to achieve the highest level of Operations Respresentative l in all areas of assigned repsonsibility.
Knowledge/Skills
- The Operations Respresentative l must possess a general understanding of water utility operations and a working knowledge of Company policies, procedures, and safety practices, as well as federal, state, and local regulations applicable to area of responsibility.
- The individual msut be detail-oriented and capable of preparing accurate records and documents.
- The Operations Representative l must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be capable of operating a computer keyboard with speed and accuracy.
- The individual must be able to perform the essential functions and meet the physical requirements of Operations Representative l.
- The individual must be capable of operating Company equipment and vehicles necessary for the completion of assigned responsibilities and must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
