Primary Role
The Senior, LIMS Administrator is responsible for day-to-day delivery of laboratory data needs and long-term strategic development and architecture of LIMS-based tools to support water and wastewater system compliance across the enterprise. This position oversees the data governance and integrity of stored laboratory results, configures the LIMS system to meet daily compliance requirements, and optimizes LIMS-based tools to meet operational needs.

Key Accountabilities
- Maintain support and maintenance of laboratory LIMS system functionality including instrumentation interface, established reporting regimen, customized alerting tools, and sample scheduling.
- Maintain data integrity related to stored and historical data.
- Identify and lead system upgrade needs through to modern, secure, interconnected technology landscape.
- Serve as key point of contact to vendors associated with LIMS and LIMS-connected technologies. This includes designing and optimizing the LIMS to fully leverage its capabilities, including seamless integration with third-party laboratories
- Ensure compliance with all laboratory accreditation requirements.
- Provide direct support for operating company compliance activities, especially in the reporting of data to state regulatory agencies.
- Provide direct data support to capital projects across the enterprise.
- Implement LIMS enhancements to improve laboratory efficiencies.
- Update LIMS data tables as requested by regulators or state leadership.
- Assist other areas of the lab as needed including sample scheduling, receiving and shipping.
Knowledge/Skills
- Strong knowledge of database programming and maintenance
- Working knowledge of technology implementation
- Knowledge of utility or laboratory operations preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (e.g., fluency in report writing and presentations).

- Database management (e.g. data governance, performance optimization, SQL proficiency, audit trail management)
Experience/Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- 8+ years' experience in database systems or applications
Certifications/Licenses
- Database, programming, LIMS certifications preferred
Work Environment
- Standard indoor office environment with occasional lab environment
