Primary Role

This position is responsible for managing (individually or through a team) all activities related to planning, design, assessment, and implementation of dam safety projects and programs. These projects are critical to ensuring the integrity, compliance, and operational reliability of the company’s water resource management and public safety.

Note: The level of the position will be determined based on the candidate’s skills and experience

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage budgets, schedules, and resources for multiple dam safety projects, including inspections, rehabilitation, and new construction. (20%)
  • Drive efficiency in project delivery by tracking key performance indicators such as cost, schedule adherence, and risk mitigation. (10%)
  • Ensure all projects comply with federal and state dam safety regulations. (20%)
  • Oversee the execution of dam safety evaluations, risk assessments, and engineering analyses in accordance with company standards and industry best practices. (10%)
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Capital, Legal) and external stakeholders (regulators, consultants, public) to align project goals and minimize operational impacts. (20%)
  • Coordinate with property, legal, and permitting teams to secure necessary land rights, environmental clearances, and regulatory approvals. (20%)

Knowledge/Skills

  • Strong knowledge of dam engineering principles, including geotechnical, structural, and hydraulic design.
  • Familiarity with dam safety regulations and guidelines (e.g., FERC, FEMA, NRCS, USACE and PADEP).
  • Experience with dam inspection, instrumentation, risk-informed decision-making, and emergency action planning.
  • Proficiency in project management, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Ability to interpret and apply engineering codes, technical standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
  • Competency in engineering software and project management tools.
  • Financial acumen, including cost estimation, budget tracking, and financial reporting.

Experience/Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • Advanced management or technical degree preferred.
  • Certifications & Licenses: Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in project delivery of major water resources projects.

Primarily office environment with a few field visits.
