Primary Role

Responsible for supervising front-line personnel and implementing operational processes that are engaged in the functional area of Transmission and Distribution for water and/or wastewater operations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supervise a team of front-line staff engaged in T&D operations. (30%)
  • Participate in the resolution of union and/or non-union labor issues. (5%)
  • Assist with preparing and controlling local construction, operations, and maintenance within established budget limitations. (10%)
  • Oversee the District’s Fleet Program (5%)
  • Coordinate and oversee the work of the District’s Maintenance Contractor. (20%)
  • Implement and foster the coaching and development of employees, including idea generation, within respective functional areas.
  • Record, compile and provide operating data to track the financial performance of T&D operations. (10%)
  • Ensure that operational integrity (quality, environment, reliability, health, safety, security, etc.) is maintained. (10%)
  • Ensure effective people management policies and practices are developed and implemented (e.g., time and attendance, workforce management, etc.) and ensure resources are developed and deployed appropriately. (10%)

Knowledge/Skills

  • Knowledge of the regulated water business and the regulations impacting the business.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures, practices, and trends.
  • Knowledge of process and operational areas.

Experience/Education

  • 2 year or 4 year degree in operational discipline, management, or related technical discipline or equivalent 3-5 years’ experience in supervising operational areas and operating units, and managing and meeting performance targets.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent required

Certifications /Licenses

Indiana DSL License preferred.
