$33.15 hourly
This position may be eligible for annual incentive pay and contracted increases as determined by the collective bargaining agreement, and you will have the opportunity for continued salary growth.

Primary Role
Performs a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of water distribution.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible to uphold all Company policies and procedures relative to safety and act in a professional manner to reduce the exposure of hazards to employees, customers, contractors, and themselves.
- Coordinate, monitor, and control the safe and efficient utilization of Company resources, when assigned.
- Maintain a safe and compliant job site at all times, including reporting and documenting any unsafe acts.
- Satisfy all Federal, State, OSHA, and traffic standards.
- Acts as a first responder and investigates water main breaks, service line leaks, leaks on owner side, and water quality complaints.
- Places emergency and routine PA One-Call notifications where required.
- Responsible for communicating, transferring, and documenting information to appropriate parties and in proper tracking systems.
- Responsible for shutdowns of leaks and turn-ons including flushing, removal of air, and the completion and documentation of valve inspections.
- Required to perform and respond to facility mark-outs pursuant to Pennsylvania One-Call.
- May be responsible for leading NRW work in assigned areas.
- Ensure the proper completion of all paper or electronic forms, timesheets, inspection sheets and other documents or reports as required by the Company or governing board(s) or committee(s).
- Maintains a properly equipped vehicle which may include DOT DVIR inspections.
- Performs work as a Utility Person and as described in the Utility Person job description (attached).
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge/Skills
- Working knowledge of the distribution system and ability to read location maps and valve indexes, make sketches and reports as necessary and required.
- Working knowledge of water distribution system is preferred.
- Must have basic geographical knowledge of company's service area and working knowledge of company policies, procedures and safety practices as well as regulations regarding confined spaces.
- Ability to operate company equipment and vehicles necessary for completion of assigned responsibilities.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities as outlined in the Utility Person job description (attached).
Experience/Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Certifications/Licenses
Once an individual is hired into or awarded a Utility Service Crew Driver position, he or she must take and pass the appropriate state certification examination for Class E Water Distribution License within 24 months, and apply for certification within 6 months of achieving the minimum experience requirement for certification, if he or she had not already met the minimum experience requirement upon passing the certification test.
Work Environment
- Must be adaptable to variations in topography and weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver equipment and materials of varying weights up to 100 lbs.
Other
- Position may be subject to mandatory off hours call-out and overtime.
- Required to possess and maintain a drivers license valid in the state of their residence.
- Will be required to complete and maintain forms needed for a driver qualification file.
- Will be required to obtain a DOT medical card.
