Primary Role
Responsible for organizing advanced functions and activities related to environmental regulatory requirements in support of the Lead Program. Manages day-to-day operations includes scheduling work, completing administrative tasks, assisting team members and handling customer inquiries in accordance with Company policies and all applicable governmental laws and regulation. Investigates lead service water quality complaints and determines course of action needed.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage monitoring and reporting programs to ensure compliance with federal and state water quality and environmental regulations and company standards for the Lead Program.
- Support the preparation of regulatory reports and records.
- Participate in internal and external audits and represent American Water with regulators and customers.
- Identify potential issues and problems and initiate responsive actions and mitigate environmental violations.
- Conduct advanced projects and prepare reports as needed.
- Investigate and respond to escalated lead service water quality complaints or concerns.
- Contribute to effective communication by listening and providing constructive feedback; supporting the creation of open and honest work environment; cascading and sharing knowledge and information relevant to other members of the team and colleagues across the business.
- Implement effective communications at all levels of our operations.
- Provide effective leadership that will enhance our abilities to be flexible to changing business environment.
Knowledge/Skills
- Knowledge of federal and state environmental standards and regulations and understanding of current environmental legislation and regulations.
- Strong Organizational Skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Knowledge of the regulated water/wastewater business within the region and the regulations impacting the business as well as applicable regulations, requirements, and trends within water/wastewater business,
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures and management theories, practices, and trends, expert knowledge of process and operational areas.
Experience/Education
- High School Dipolma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 3-5 years experience in managing multiple projects and meeting performance targets.
- Strong computer knowledge microsoft office
Certifications/Licenses
- Valid Driver’s License required with the ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Work Environment
- Indoor/Outdoor, field operations and office environments.
- 3 days in office, 2 days remote
Travel Requirements
- Local and regional travel within southwestern PA. Rare overnight travel may be required.
