Job Title:  Principal Solution Engineer Oracle EPM and Hyperion HFM

Job Description: 

Primary Role

Looking for an experienced Oracle EPM (Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service) and Hyperion HFM Consolidation professional to support, maintain, and optimize our existing EPBCS and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and efficiency of financial planning models and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM). This role requires technical expertise in EPM Automate, Data Management, and complex integrations with SAP (S/4HANA and/or ECC) and other non-SAP systems. Will serve as the primary technical contact for both Oracle system including EPBCS and on-prem Hyperion HFM ensuring alignment with the ongoing transformation program and supporting any mergers and acquisitions activities as required. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide Oracle Best Practice knowledge to aid in the design processes. He/She will perform the necessary configuration to convert the requirements into a business solution.
  • Experience with all phases of implementation including business process blueprint, detailed design, configuration, testing, and support.
  • Work with the business to gather requirements, develop proof of concepts for new technologies/solutions, and suggest business process improvisation to reduce complexity in custom application.
  • Maintain a solutions roadmap that enables business outcomes and are able toF reliably forecast business needs in the 3-5 year horizon.
  • Lead projects that execute against this roadmap. This includes development from concept through realization including enhancements, new modules / systems / solutions, quality improvements and productivity improvements.
  • Manage and optimize data flows between Oracle EPM tools and source systems like SAP, leveraging tools such as FDMEE, Data Management, and EPM Automate.
  • Act as the primary technical support for the EPBCS platform, resolving issues related to business rules, data loads, and matadata changes
  • Perform monthly and yearly administration tasks, including metadata updates, dimension maintenance, data loads, and security provisioning.
  • Monitor application performance, conduct routine maintenance, and ensure data integrity across all planning modules (Workforce, Capital, Projects, Financials).
  • Manage metadata updates, security, and user provisioning, including coordinating with Oracle support for system upgrades and patching.
  • Maintain and optimize data integration, mapping, and transformation activities using Oracle Data Management.
  • Streamline data flow between EPBCS and ERP systems, specifically focusing on SAP and other third-party sources.
  • Develop and enhance automation scripts using EPM Automate for nightly jobs, metadata updates, and data synchronization.
  • Analyze and tune existing Business Rules, Calculation Scripts, and Essbase cubes to enhance performance, focusing on reducing calculation times.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to leverage Groovy scripting for more complex, efficient business rules.
  • Optimize data import/export processes for faster, more accurate forecasting cycles.
  • Collaborate with FP&A and finance teams to gather requirements for enhancements, translating them into technical solutions.
  • Support the creation of, and updates to, complex Web Forms, Dashboards, and Smart View reports.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Ability to serve as a liaison between technical, quality assurance and non-technical stakeholders throughout the development and deployment process.
  • Ability to create and maintain testing scripts.
  • Experience with creating training materials and assisting with user orientation and training.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with business stakeholders and development teams and to make project presentations.
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to plan ahead for scheduled tasks.
  • Versatile, dynamic, demonstrates initiative, results oriented, flexible and able to work under tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change.
  • Utility Industry experience is a Plus.

 

Experience/Education

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 12+ years’ hands-on experience in Oracle EPM Cloud implementations and support.
  • Deep expertise in Oracle EPBCS/PBCS, Essbase (BSO/ASO), and Data Management.
  • Proven experience integrating Oracle EPM and Hyperion HFM with SAP (via EPM Integration Agent or flat files) and other non-SAP systems.
  • Proficiency in EPM Automate, Calculation Manager, and Groovy scripts.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, financial consolidation principles, GAAP/IFRS budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes. 
  • Oracle EPM Cloud Certified Implementation Specialist is a plus. 
  • Experience implementing at least two full-cycle implementations.
