Salary Range: $59,280 - $99,060
The base salary range represents a good faith salary range for this position. This position is eligible for annual incentive pay and has the opportunity for continued salary growth. Primary Role
The Financial Analyst, Acquisitions Modeling is responsible for developing detailed financial models, supporting due diligence for mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and delivering strategic insights to executive leadership to guide growth decisions.
Key Accountabilities
- Build and present standard and moderately complex financial models within standard corporate templates, for acquisition opportunities, including scenario and sensitivity analyses, rate impact assessments, and debt defeasance calculations.
- Develop and present reports and presentations (Excel, PowerPoint, graphs, tables) for state leadership, executive management, and the Investment Committee.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Business Development, Rates, Operations, and Legal to define and document modeling assumptions.
- Lead financial analysis efforts with minimal supervision, including direct engagement with senior executives.
- Support regulatory filings and respond to data requests related to acquisitions and general rate cases.
- Research acquisition opportunities using data from regulatory bodies, government entities, and financial markets.
- Promote continuous improvement by evaluating and enhancing team tools, templates, and processes.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis as required.
Knowledge/Skills
- Deep understanding of financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet).
- Familiarity with valuation methodologies, accounting principles, and utility ratemaking economics (preferred).
Experience/Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Finance/Accounting) preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant financial experience required.
- Experience developing new analytical approaches and financial models.
- Experience in regulated utilities is a plus.
Certifications & Licenses
- CPA or CFA preferred.
Travel Requirements
- Up to 5%, as required.
