Job Description: 

Key Accountabilities

  • Compile an enterprise-wide inventory of current state reports and data dictionaries, documenting usage, value, and dependencies.
  • Gather and document business requirements for new reporting and analytics needs.
  • Perform data analysis and validation to ensure accuracy and fit for use.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards, reports, and visualizations to provide actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with regulatory, compliance, and security teams to ensure adherence to policies.
  • Collaborate with Data Stewards, Data Governance, and IT to ensure use of standardized data definitions and trusted sources.
  • Contribute to the development of enterprise KPIs, reporting standards, and metadata documentation.
  • Provide ad-hoc analyses and support the rollout of self-service analytics capabilities, as necessary
  • Support the data analytics and reporting lead with technical requirements gathering for data platforms and analytics tools, as required.

Skills - Role Specific:

  • Strong proficiency with reporting and visualization tools (e.g., QuickSight, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience in querying and validating data using SQL or comparable tools.
  • Knowledge of data modeling concepts and relational databases.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise systems used in utilities (e.g., SAP, GIS) and their related reporting structures.
  • Ability to evaluate existing reports for redundancy, value, and alignment with standards.

 

Self-Management:

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in analysis.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage inventories, frameworks, and multiple analytics requests.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and business audiences.
  • Continuous learner with curiosity about analytics best practices and emerging tools.

Experience/Education

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, AWS).
  • Demonstrated success developing reports, dashboards, or analytics.
  • Proven ability to work with stakeholders to capture requirements and translate them into reporting solutions.
  • Experience collaborating across business and technical teams to resolve issues
  • Preference: Exposure to multi-domain environments and cross-functional projects.
  • Preference: Familiarity with analytics platforms, preferably in a regulated industry such as utilities, energy, or infrastructure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
  • Additional certification in Data Analytics / Visualization Tools (e.g., QuickSight, PowerBI, Tableau) or Data Management (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional – CDMP) preferred.

Certifications & Licenses

Certifications in Analytics Tools (e.g., QuickSight, PowerBI, Tableau) or Data Management (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional – CDMP) preferred.

Travel Requirements

As necessary.
